Lights! Camera! Action!

Lights! Camera! Action!

There are so many ways to create and use video, that I’ll never get them all….but what I can do is to give you some examples of how to fit video into your business, and what technologies are used in those examples.

First, is what we did for the documentation of our JoomFuse product. We used screen capture recordings with voice over. We used ScreenFlow to record, edit, and highlight the resulting video and then export the resulting video (Camtasia is another similar product to ScreenFlow).

We recently did an unboxing video for a vendor….all we did was to have Kerry video me with my iPhone as I unboxed and narrated what I was doing….sent the video to my computer and converted it a standard web format and shipped it off to the vendor….not production quality, but it wasn’t meant to be.

I used a similar technique to give another vendor a video testimonial…..she loved it. One strategy at an event is to have an area where people attending the event can give video testimonials….then after the event, you can use them separately, or string the best ones together, or how about making a video collage?

There seems to be a new hot video technology every day. One of the newest and hottest is Facebook Live. I know a great marketer who does a 5 minute FB Live video each week for her FB group. Totally valuable educational content for the members of her group. The great thing about FB Live, that you can watch it live and post questions, but it is just in the thread of the group, so you can go back and watch it anytime.

Infusionsoft has started using FB Live to give updates to their partners in the private ICP Facebook group.

Then there are all the video hosting services available. YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, AWS, just to name a few. Wistia is my favorite (we use it on all our sites), but I have used them all and they all work well. We have a client who posts weekly videos for his members and Vimeo is doing a great job for him. [BTW - as a technical aside, use a video hosting service if you are going to have any amount of regular video playback. They are inexpensive and really bump the performance of your site].

With the tools available and the ease of use, the sky’s the limit. Video blog posts, product demonstrations, courses & classes, member updates, video sales letters, etc. etc. etc.
