Unstoppable Business

There are many good reasons for having more than one Infusionsoft application in your business. We’ll talk about some of them.

I can hear you now, “I can barely maintain my one app!” I get it! We are always dealing with several apps at a time for our clients and sometimes it feels like there is always something to do or some tweak to make over here or over there.

But trust me, there are times when maintaining 2 or more apps in Infusionsoft is really easier than trying to cram what should be mutually exclusive usage into one app and trying to keep it all straight.

Here are some examples where multiple apps can make sense:

- Providing services to clients using the Infusionsoft engine

My first piece of advice NEVER EVER mix your data in an app that clients can access, NEVER! I don’t know about you, but I run my whole business out of my Infusionsoft and I certainly do not want my clients seeing any of that.

Sure, you can protect yourself by setting user permissions, but why take the chance that you forgot to remove one critical permission? If part of your service model is to provide services to your clients, you can afford to put them all in a separate instance of Infusionsoft.

We used to provide email newsletter services to a variety of clients. They would pay us a monthly fee and send us their opted-in list and we would send out a newsletter once a week for them written by our copywriters. They didn't even have a log in to Infusionsoft, but I would NEVER allow their data on my main app.

- Running multiple disparate businesses

It can be difficult to run 2 or more very different types of businesses through one instance of Infusionsoft. You have to be diligent in your tag, campaign, products, order form naming conventions…just to name a few.

And if the different businesses are with different partners, perhaps you want to keep them separate from each other so one partner can’t see the other business.

I have one client who is running too many businesses in one Infusionsoft, but while it is less efficient every day, he has done it for so long that it would be a major project to recreate everything in a new instance of Infusionsoft….so decide early! (Hint: If you are converting from Legacy to Campaign Builder, that’s another great time to move one business into another app.)

- Selling a packaged service

We have one client who is doing it and another who is thinking about taking the system they have perfected for their industry and selling it as a packaged service.

First I want to congratulate these clients….they are thinking broadly and creatively. Not only are they thinking about how to better automate their own business but about starting a completely new revenue stream helping others do the same.

The one who is closest to getting this done originally talked to us about hosting all the other contacts of the clients purchasing the packaged service. Please refer to #1 above….NEVER EVER mix your contacts with client contacts.

This packaged system is perfectly matched to selling an Infusionsoft app for each package. You just need to build it into the pricing model….besides it is the right thing to do….everyone’s data is isolated from everyone else’s data.

There are more reasons, but these should get your thinking cap on and warmed up. We are here to discuss how another app could benefit your business so reach out anytime you have questions or you’re ready to go.
